University Center


The Carnegie Mellon University campus community has a central gathering place in the University Center. The centerpiece of Carnegie Mellon's "New Campus Plan," the University Center contains numerous facilities for athletics, assemblies and dining as well as lounge and retail areas. It also includes space for student organizations and activities. The University Center opened in 1996 and is the home of the varsity swimming and diving team.

Willamette University


Willamette University is a top-ranked private liberal arts university located directly across the street from Oregon's Capitol. The University of Bristol Botanic Garden


A new University Botanic Garden is being created within the grounds of The Holmes at Stoke Bishop, just off Durdham Down. Glasshouses have been erected and the major landscaping has now been completed. Planting commenced in 2005 and further planting during 2006 and 2007 is transforming the site into a new Botanic Garden. The new 1.77 hectare garden, which opened in March 2006, will focus on four themed plant collections: (i) Plant Evolution, (ii) Plants of Mediterranean Climate Regions, (iii) Useful Plants, and (iv) Local Flora and Rare Native Plants, carefully chosen to fulfil the teaching, research and conservation requirements of a small University Botanic Garden in the 21st Century. As well as enhancing the teaching of Plant Sciences within the University, this investment by the University of Bristol will also provide a unique teaching resource for local schools and a new cultural attraction for the City of Bristol

Saaremaa University Centre


In 1991, the University of Turku started co-operation with the Province of Saaremaa which covers the island of Saaremaa with more than 40,000 inhabitants, and several smaller islands. This co-operation soon expanded to include the counties of Hiiumaa and Läänemaa. A university office, run by the Centre for Extension Studies, was established in the city of Kuressaare on Saaremaa in 1993 for regional development courses and courses for the owners of the first private small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Saaremaa University Centre was established in September 1997 by the University of Turku, and four Estonian universities (the University of Tartu, Tallinn University of Technology, the Estonian University of Life Sciences and Tallinn University) and the Province of Saaremaa.

Today, also the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University and Kaunas University of Technology and Klaipeda University participate in the activities of the centre. The Centre is also at the disposal of the Baltic Sea Region University Network for joint seminars and meetings.

University of California, Irvine


The University of California’s Irvine campus was founded in 1965 and derived its name from the Irvine Company that donated 1,000 acres of land for a single dollar! This Southern California campus is located in the heart of Orange County, about 36 miles south of Los Angeles. Visitors to this campus can take advantage of the favorable weather and the close proximity to several beaches, including Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, and Huntington Beach. Nature lovers can indulge in a walk through the thickly-wooded trees of Aldrich Park, located at the heart of campus. The campus is also conveniently located within driving distance to the Irvine Spectrum, the Disneyland Resort, and Knott’s Berry Farm

UC English Language Institute


The University of Canberra English Language Institute (UCELI) has prepared international students for entry to the University of Canberra since 1969. Of special interest is the English Access Program (EAP) and Postgraduate Preparation Program (PPP) which provide direct entry pathways into all courses at the University as well as the University of Canberra College.

UCELI is the only IELTS test centre in Canberra and also offers IELTS preparation courses.

UCELI teachers are highly qualified and have vast international experience. Classes are conducted in a new building and there is full access to University facilities, including the International Learning and Teaching Resource Centre within UCELI.
